At Diana Porter we offer five different ring finishes, which gives the ring a distinct look and character. From the velvety matte finish to the highly textured molten finish, there is sure to be something to match your aesthetic. All five finishes are shown below in 9ct White Gold, 9ct Yellow Gold and 14ct Rose Gold.

Soft File Finish: A soft file finish has a fine line surface, with a subtle shine, creating a lovely textured soft lustre.  The soft file finish is achieved by hand, using a jewellers file to create the tiny brush-like marks.

Durability: A soft file finish holds up well over time, it’s a durable finish that is less likely to be affected by everyday wear.

Strata: Our signature Strata finish has an organic quality that is created through the etching process. It is then hand carved to create the natural-looking textures, that brings an alternative and tactile feel.

Durability:  A durable finish that is less likely to be affected by the wear and tear of an active lifestyle.

Matte Finish: A matte finish has a velvet-like surface and is not reflective in comparison to polished and soft file finish. The finish absorbs the light instead of reflecting it, creating a soft opaque appearance.

Durability: Matte surfaces require a little more care as the scratches can become more pronounced over time. The surface of a matte ring inevitably becomes shinier over time.

Molten finish: The molten finish has a defined, eye-catching appearance, that creates a tactile feel, coated in dips and curves. Sandblasting and polishing techniques combine to create this deep texture.

Durability: Highly durable texture, it’s a great finish for someone that frequently works with their hands.

Polished Finish: The polished finish is the shiniest and most reflective of finishes. It is sometimes referred to as the “mirror finish” due to its luminous sheen.

Durability: Over time, the polished finish tends to pick up scratches. Though, it is worthwhile noting that it can be re-finished with ease.
